The City of Raleigh has been awarded a $300,000 Digital Equity Grant from the North Carolina Department of Information Technology. This grant will support the expansion of the City’s Digital Inclusion Programming, including initiatives such as the Digital Ambassador Program and Learn & Earn. These programs are central to the City’s efforts to bridge the digital divide.

The Digital Inclusion Unit offers community programs that leverage technology to improve residents' lives. The unit has achieved significant milestones, including training over 3,800 residents in digital literacy, distributing more than 1,000 computers to underserved individuals, and contributing over 10,000 hours of volunteer service.

Digital equity and inclusion are key components of the City’s Strategic Plan. This grant aims to deepen engagement and extend services to more citizens. "We are enthusiastic about this expansion and the positive impact it will have on our community," stated a city representative.
