Marsh Creek Park is offering a range of summer programs catering to various interests and age groups.
The Basketball Skills Development class, held every Sunday from 3-4 p.m., targets children aged 5-16 at a cost of $5 per session. This program aims to teach fundamental basketball skills suitable for beginners and those with limited experience in the sport. While there will be no sessions in July, the classes will resume in August.
On Wednesday, July 24, from 6-7:30 p.m., individuals aged 16 and older can attend the Backyard Orchard Management class for $10. This session is designed for those interested in learning how to cultivate fruit trees in urban settings, offering practical insights into orchard care.
For those who have previously taken Soul Line Dance Classes and wish to advance their skills, the Soul Line Dance & Get Fit Class Advanced is available on Tuesdays from 6-7:30 p.m. This class, which costs $7 per session, promises a faster-paced workout aimed at enhancing participants' dancing abilities.
The SRIS Totally Tiki Summer Dance will take place on Friday, July 12, from 7-9 p.m. This event is open to youth and adults with disabilities aged 15 and older and costs $5 to attend. Volunteer chaperones will be present along with a DJ, refreshments, and a popsicle party. Participants requiring additional support are encouraged to bring a chaperone or personal assistant at no extra charge; however, pre-registration is recommended.
Looking ahead to fall, Marsh Creek Park plans to introduce several new programs including Toddler Sports, Toddler Arts & Crafts Without Series, Let’s Ride: An Introduction to Bike Riding, Youth Sports, Youth Arts & Crafts, Balloon Animal Making for Teens and Adults, Orchard Management for Adults, and Gardening for Adults.
