The City of Raleigh will host "Saturday on South" on July 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place on W. South Street, between S. Dawson and S. McDowell streets.

In September, the Raleigh City Council will vote on whether to permanently close a portion of South Street. This closure would allow for the relocation of Red Hat Amphitheater south of Lenoir Street and the expansion of the Raleigh Convention Center into the space currently occupied by the amphitheater.

"Saturday on South" offers community members an opportunity to learn more about these plans and discuss them with City staff and other project partners.

The event will feature a cookout, bounce houses, live music, snow cones, and is free and open to everyone. Representatives from the Raleigh Convention Center and Performing Arts Center complex will be available to answer questions. Additional staff from Transportation, Planning, and Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources departments will also be present to discuss the project with attendees.
