As the offseason begins, the Carolina Hurricanes are preparing for a significant summer in terms of player movement. The team faces decisions on ten restricted free agents (RFAs) and ten unrestricted free agents (UFAs).

The RFAs who played at least one game for the Hurricanes this year include Dylan Coghlan, Max Comtois, Jack Drury, Seth Jarvis, and Martin Necas. Additionally, Griffin Mendel, Blake Murray, Ty Smith, Ryan Suzuki, and Tuukka Tieksola are RFAs despite not playing for the team this season.

To retain an RFA's status, teams must issue a Qualifying Offer by either the Monday following the Entry Draft or June 25. These offers cannot be accepted before July 1 and expire by July 15 unless extended in writing. Group 2 RFAs must sign by December 1 to ensure their contracts are valid for the upcoming season.

Among the UFAs who played at least one game for Carolina this year are Callahan Burke, Jalen Chatfield, Tony DeAngelo, Jake Guentzel, Jordan Martinook, Stefan Noesen, Brett Pesce, Antti Raanta, Brady Skjei, and Teuvo Teravainen. The Hurricanes have exclusive negotiating rights with these players until July 1 unless they are traded.

"Seth Jarvis wins it for [the team] in overtime!" tweeted NHL (@NHL), highlighting Jarvis's contributions to the team.

"Jake Guentzel scoring goals for the Carolina Hurricanes doesn't get old," stated Carolina Hurricanes (@Canes), emphasizing Guentzel's impact on the ice.
