The Carolina Hurricanes are set to face the New York Rangers at Lenovo Center on Wednesday, aiming for their ninth consecutive win. The game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET and will be broadcasted on FanDuel Sports Network South and its app, with radio coverage available on 99.9 The Fan and the Hurricanes App.

Currently holding a record of 15-5-1, the Hurricanes stand second in the Metropolitan Division. Their last game was a 6-4 victory against the Dallas Stars, where they scored five goals in the third period to secure the win. Sebastian Aho contributed one goal and three assists, while Seth Jarvis added one goal and two assists. Martin Necas achieved his 11th multi-point game of the season, tying him for the league lead in scoring.

Necas has become the fastest player in franchise history to reach 35 points within 21 games. He shares this position with Rod Brind'Amour who led or tied for the league lead in scoring back in November 2006.

Defenseman Dmitry Orlov enters tonight's match with an assist streak spanning five games, tying his longest point streak. His performance places him second among Canes defensemen with 13 points over 21 games.

The Rangers arrive following three losses, having been outscored by opponents including Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, and St. Louis Blues. Despite recent struggles, New York maintains an impressive penalty kill success rate of 89.2%. Artemi Panarin leads their team with 26 points but has struggled recently to find consistency on the scoresheet.

In net for Carolina could be Spencer Martin after his recent win against Dallas improved his record to 2-2-1 this season.

In terms of injuries, goaltender Frederik Andersen is sidelined due to knee surgery expected to keep him out for up to twelve weeks since October's injury against Seattle. Jesper Fast will miss this season as announced earlier in August while Pyotr Kochetkov remains under concussion protocol from a recent game incident without a specified return date.

Following Wednesday’s contest against New York Rangers, Carolina will have Thursday off before returning Friday afternoon facing Florida Panthers starting a back-to-back series.
