The Carolina Hurricanes secured a 4-3 victory over the New York Rangers, marking their second consecutive third-period comeback. The match took place at Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, before a sellout crowd on Wednesday night.

Jesperi Kotkaniemi tied the game with his third goal of the season midway through the final period. Shortly after, Jackson Blake scored the game-winning goal during a power play at 12:01, sealing the win for the Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes initially took the lead early in the first period with a goal from Jack Drury. However, New York managed to equalize later in the same period. In the second period, Seth Jarvis restored Carolina's lead with a power-play goal assisted by Martin Necas. The Rangers responded by scoring twice before entering the final frame with a 3-2 advantage.

Spencer Martin was instrumental in securing Carolina's win, making 20 saves from 23 shots on goal. Dmitry Orlov extended his point streak to six games with an assist on Drury’s opening goal.

Seth Jarvis' contribution marked four consecutive games with a power-play goal for Carolina. This run is now second only to an earlier five-game streak this season. Jack Drury was recognized as the first star of the game following his multi-point performance.

Jackson Blake remains close behind Philadelphia's Matvei Michkov in goals scored by a rookie this season. Meanwhile, Martin Necas continues to lead in multi-point performances across league players this year.

Carolina's current nine-game home winning streak is its third-longest in franchise history, each featuring at least four goals per game.

Jackson Blake commented on his decisive goal: "We talked about (the pass) in the first period... It was a great job by KK and Rosey driving through... I just had to finish it."

Rod Brind'Amour praised his team's execution during power plays: "Great execution... You always have a plan, but do you execute it?"

Jack Drury attributed their resilience to leadership within their team: "We've got great leadership... They give us faith in ourselves."

The Hurricanes will rest on Thursday and face off against Florida Panthers on Friday as part of a back-to-back series.
