The Carolina Hurricanes are set to face the New York Rangers, with Martin Necas leading the charge. Necas, who shares the NHL's top scoring spot, has accumulated 35 points in 21 games this season. He recently delivered a multi-point performance and secured the game-winning goal against Dallas.

Necas is noted as "the first player to lead the NHL in scoring (outright or tied, minimum 20 games played) since Rod Brind’Amour was tied with Marian Hossa on Nov. 18, 2006."

Sebastian Aho and Seth Jarvis will also be key players for the Hurricanes after contributing seven points combined in their latest victory. Spencer Martin is expected to start as goaltender, while Pyotr Kochetkov remains in concussion protocol despite feeling better and returning to practice.

Coach Brind'Amour mentioned that Kochetkov is "feeling good" but still not cleared for play.

The projected lineup includes forwards Jarvis, Aho, Roslovic; Svechnikov, Drury, Necas; Martinook, Staal, Carrier; Robinson, Kotkaniemi, Blake. On defense are Slavin with Burns; Orlov with Chatfield; Gostisbehere with Walker. Martin will start as goaltender with Perets as backup.

Injuries impacting the team include Frederik Andersen's knee injury sidelining him for 8-12 weeks from November 22 and Jesper Fast out for the season due to a neck injury. Kochetkov's return date remains uncertain.

Special teams feature power play units: PP1 includes Aho, Jarvis, Necas, Svechnikov with Gostisbehere; PP2 consists of Blake, Drury, Kotkaniemi, Roslovic with Burns.

The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time.
