Raleigh Arts has joined forces with VertiPrint Raleigh to introduce a new wall printing technology, allowing for the direct application of artwork onto surfaces such as brick or concrete. This innovative method has been used to create a mural at Pullen Arts Center, which will be displayed on an exterior wall for one year.
Jesse White, who serves as both a local illustrator and assistant director at Pullen Arts Center, designed the mural. His work emphasizes the tools and materials utilized by artists in the center's studios. In collaboration with VertiPrints, White drew the mural by hand before digitizing it for vertical printer installation.
Jesse White is known for his whimsical and imaginative illustrations, which often reflect themes from his rural North Carolina upbringing. His art frequently includes elements like starry skies and colorful moths.
VertiPrint Raleigh specializes in customizable large-scale printing using UV ink that is both durable and environmentally friendly. Their printers can apply designs directly onto various surfaces including glass, drywall, brick, concrete, wood, and metal.
The mural is located at Pullen Arts Center in Raleigh and can be viewed free of charge during specific hours throughout the week.
