One of the events is "My Best Gal/Guy & Me Red Carpet Dance," scheduled for Friday, February 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Laurel Hills Community Center. This event invites families in all forms to participate and enjoy the festivities. It costs $25 per person and is open to ages 6-15 accompanied by an adult.
For those interested in preserving family history, "Preservation Love: How to Preserve Your Family History" will take place on Tuesday, February 11, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Five Points Center for Active Adults. The event is free and targets individuals aged 18 and up who wish to learn about safeguarding their family heritage.
On the same day from 2 to 4 p.m., Pullen Community Center will host "Let's Make Valentines." This activity allows participants of all ages to create personalized Valentine's cards using provided supplies. The cost is $4 per person.
For adults seeking new friendships, "Valentine's Speed-Friending" offers an opportunity on Thursday, February 13, from 3 to 5 p.m., also at the Five Points Center for Active Adults. Participants can engage in activities designed to foster connections with others for a fee of $5.
Later that evening, the City of Raleigh Museum will hold a "Pals & Gals Wine and Vintage Card Making Valentine's Party" from 7 to 9 p.m., targeting those aged 21 and older. Attendees can enjoy wine, local chocolate, and card-making for a price between $24-$28.
Finally, on Valentine's Day itself—Friday, February 14—the Chapel at Dix Park will host "Valentine's Date Night" from 6 to 9 p.m. This free event promises an evening filled with dance instruction alongside desserts and refreshments suitable for attendees of all ages.
Raleigh Parks encourages community participation in these varied celebrations as a way of fostering connections among residents during this season dedicated to love and friendship.
