The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) has reported an increase in flu-related deaths, with the total reaching 362 for this season. This figure marks the highest number of flu fatalities since the 2017-2018 season. The data is available on the department's Respiratory Virus Summary Dashboard.

In response to these developments, NCDHHS State Epidemiologist Dr. Zack Moore will address the media regarding current flu trends. The virtual session is scheduled for Thursday, March 6, from 3:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
