Amazon has launched its new platform, Amazon.ie, catering to customers in Ireland. The site offers a vast selection of over 200 million products with competitive pricing in Euro and efficient delivery options. Customers will benefit from One-Day Delivery on millions of items and can shop without facing additional customs charges. The launch also introduces a "Brands of Ireland" page, showcasing Irish businesses to enhance their reach.

Irish consumers now have the option to join Prime through Amazon.ie for €6.99 monthly or €69.90 annually. This membership includes benefits such as fast delivery, exclusive deals, access to Prime Video content, gaming perks via Prime Gaming, and partner offers like discounts at Odeon cinemas and Deliveroo services.

Alison Dunn, Ireland's country manager at Amazon, expressed enthusiasm about the launch: “Our teams across the country are unbelievably proud and incredibly excited to launch Amazon.ie.” She emphasized the value it brings to Irish consumers and businesses alike.

Ireland's Taoiseach Micheál Martin praised the expansion for offering more choice and value while supporting local businesses: “By using Amazon, people know that they will get a well-trusted, great service.” Similarly, Peter Burke highlighted it as evidence of Amazon’s ongoing commitment to Ireland.

The opening is being marked by appearances from notable Irish figures including Nicky Byrne from Westlife and footballer Shay Given. Vogue Williams also participated in celebrating the launch by delivering products personally.

In addition to consumer offerings, Amazon continues its investment in Ireland's economy with over 6,500 employees working across various sectors within Cork, Dublin, and Drogheda since establishing operations there in 2004. Recent initiatives include significant investments totaling more than €22 billion into Irish operations since then.

The platform aims not only at expanding its customer base but also assisting local enterprises through collaboration with Enterprise Ireland—facilitating growth opportunities for brands like Barry’s Tea and Bewley’s among others available on Amazon.ie.
