Yeadon Fabric Domes, LLC, a company specializing in air-supported structures, plans to establish a manufacturing facility in Fayetteville, North Carolina. This development is expected to create 72 new jobs and involves an investment of $4.6 million.

Governor Josh Stein expressed enthusiasm about the company's decision to expand into Cumberland County. "We are delighted to welcome Yeadon Fabric Domes to Cumberland County," he stated. He highlighted the state's manufacturing leadership and strategic location as key factors in attracting innovative companies.

Yeadon Fabric Domes designs and manufactures climate-controlled domed structures for various applications, including professional sports venues and swimming pools. The company has installations in over 30 countries, serving clients such as professional football teams and universities like the University of Pennsylvania and Marquette University. Their new facility will be located at the Fayetteville Regional Airport.

Matt Mejia, CEO of Yeadon Fabric Domes, shared his excitement about the expansion: “Yeadon Domes is thrilled to be expanding our operations to Fayetteville.” He praised Fayetteville as an ideal location for their new manufacturing site and acknowledged the support from Governor Stein and local partners.

N.C. Commerce Secretary Lee Lilley emphasized North Carolina's favorable business environment: “North Carolina is one of the fastest growing states in the nation as it continues to be recognized as the top state to do business in America.”

The average annual salary for these new positions will be $47,734, surpassing Cumberland County's average salary of $47,175. This could result in an annual payroll impact exceeding $3.4 million.

To facilitate this project, a performance-based grant of $225,000 from the One North Carolina Fund will assist Yeadon's relocation efforts. This fund supports local governments in attracting economic investments by providing financial assistance contingent on job creation and capital investment targets being met.

N.C. Senator Val Applewhite welcomed Yeadon's investment: “They will greatly benefit from our transitioning military families which offer a uniquely skilled and prepared workforce that a company of this impact will need.”

N.C. Representative Diane Wheatley also expressed appreciation for state and local collaboration: “This is a great win for Cumberland County and the entire state.”

Key partners involved include the North Carolina Department of Commerce, Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, North Carolina General Assembly, North Carolina Community College System, Cumberland County officials, City of Fayetteville authorities, and Fayetteville Cumberland County Economic Development Corporation.
