Governor Josh Stein has put forward a judicial nomination, announcing Stephanie Brennan as a candidate for Special Superior Court judge. Brennan is set to fill a vacancy resulting from the retirement of Hon. Louis A. Bledsoe, III.

Currently, Brennan serves as a Special Deputy Attorney General and Section Head for Special Litigation at the North Carolina Department of Justice. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College and a Juris Doctor degree from Yale Law School.

Governor Stein expressed confidence in Brennan's capabilities, stating, "Stephanie is an exceptional litigator, and I witnessed her legal acumen and leadership firsthand during my time as Attorney General. She is committed to excellence and fairness, and I look forward to her service on the court."

The nomination has been forwarded to the General Assembly, where it awaits confirmation through a joint resolution.
