Red Hat, a leading open source solutions provider, announced its collaboration with B2 Impact, a prominent debt collection company in Poland. The partnership aims to modernize B2 Impact's IT infrastructure and applications using Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization. This move is set to improve operational efficiency, application quality, and performance of production environments.

The adoption of Red Hat technologies has notably accelerated B2 Impact's extract, transform, load (ETL) processes fourfold and reduced the time for preparing new operational environments to just one hour. Bartłomiej Godzieszka, Head of IT at B2 Impact, stated, "We’ve chosen Red Hat to help prepare our technology ecosystem for a future based entirely on hybrid cloud and cloud-ready solutions."

B2 Impact manages debt for 2.5 million customers, handling 4.1 million cases. The company faced challenges in adapting to high change dynamics and regulatory requirements in the financial sector. Key modernization goals included strengthening cybersecurity and complying with EU regulations such as the Network and Information Security Directive 2 (NIS2) and Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA).

The transformation project involved upgrading two data centers and migrating operating environments using Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization. The modernization included rearchitecting virtual machines to containers, which improved scalability and application flexibility, facilitating faster software development and product delivery. The new IT infrastructure also streamlined operations, reducing the number of physical and virtual servers, and lowering tech debt and infrastructure costs.

Lubomir Stojek, country manager for Red Hat in Poland, noted, “Modernizing IT infrastructure is a necessity today, especially for the financial sector to ensure the highest level of security and compliance with regulations such as NIS2 and DORA. B2 Impact is on a journey to strengthen their systems and better manage risks, which is crucial in times of dynamic threats."

Net-o-logy, a partner in the project, supported B2 Impact throughout the upgrade. The company plans to continue its modernization with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to enhance infrastructure management using security, integration, and network automation capabilities. As Godzieszka added, "The financial industry is one of the most technologically advanced sectors of the Polish economy, setting a high bar for companies that must rely on flexibility and innovation to remain competitive, grow rapidly and meet strict security regulations."

B2 Impact aims to achieve full containerization of its services by 2027, positioning itself to respond to evolving market needs effectively.
