Today, Governor Josh Stein announced the appointment of Lisa Johnson-Tonkins to the Superior Court for Judicial District 24A, covering part of Guilford County. This position became available following the retirement of the Honorable Lora Cubbage.
Lisa Johnson-Tonkins previously held the position of elected clerk of the Superior Court of Guilford County. She has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from North Carolina A&T State University and a Juris Doctor degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law.
Governor Stein commented on the appointment, stating, "Lisa has served Guilford County faithfully for over a decade. Her judgement and experience are invaluable, and I look forward to her service on the bench."
