CITY OF RALEIGH: Commuters Take Note: 1200 - 1800 Blocks of Oberlin Road to Close for Three Months

City of Raleigh issued the following announcement on Oct. 10. 

Raleigh Water will conduct a full closure of the 1200 - 1800 blocks of Oberlin Road in Raleigh NC, between Wade Avenue and Fairview Road, for a planned water improvement project beginning at 7:00 am on Wednesday, October 20. Closure is expected to last for three months, though work schedules are subject to change based on weather and other factors. Access for businesses and local traffic will remain open.

          DETOUR:

  • Motorists traveling northbound on Oberlin Road will take the Wade Avenue eastbound ramp, a left on St. Mary’s Street, a left on Fairview Road, and back onto Oberlin Road.
  • Motorists traveling southbound on Oberlin Road will take a left on Fairview Road, a right on St. Mary’s Street, a right on Wade Avenue, and back onto Oberlin Road.
Motorists approaching these areas should expect traffic delays and are advised to avoid these areas if possible. Motorists approaching this area should be aware of all posted traffic signs, ROAD CLOSURES, traffic cones, and work crews.

Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen conditions.  

This closure is part of the Oberlin Road Waterline Improvement Project.
