As part of our commitment to public-private partnerships for social impact, we sought out businesses in our community to identify cutting-edge solutions for affordable housing. At this event, we heard ideas that addressed sustainable building practices, creative financing models, and the latest technologies designed to make affordable housing a reality in Raleigh.

Our expert panel of judges evaluated each pitch based on its feasibility, creativity, and potential impact on our community. Each presenter shared their proposed solution and answered questions from the audience and judging panel.

We heard pitches from the following companies:

  • ADUco - The firm connects homeowners wanting ADUs, charitable organizations with funding, and tenants seeking affordable living solutions. They are a full-service accessory dwelling rental matchmaking and management service that believes there are many homeowners in Raleigh who want to be a part of the affordable housing solution.
  • DEXFT LLC - The company provides consulting, designing, and construction to build ADUs and other frequent transit development in-fill housing options.
  • collabADU manages and develops ADUs in Raleigh for homeowners with low incomes. They create steel-framed, North Carolina-based modular kit homes through partnerships with local and national non-profits.
  • Third Estate Analytics - The firm uses computational software that identifies where local law permits ADUs and works with landlords to densify their land through personalized incentive packages.
collabADU was selected as the overall winner to receive the $5,000 prize and an opportunity to enter into a pilot partnership with the City. We want to thank everyone that participated to make the event a success. More information about this public private partnership will be forthcoming.
