The trees are bare and the air is chilly. Maybe there's snow!
Forest Ridge Park is inviting outdoor enthusiasts to join them on a winter hike along the Shoreline Trail. The hike, scheduled for Monday, Jan. 1 from 1 - 3 p.m., promises to be an exciting adventure for all skill levels.
"Our experienced guides will be there to ensure a safe and enjoyable hike," says John Smith, the park's hiking expert. "They will provide valuable tips on how to prepare and dress for a winter hike, as well as point out interesting features along the trail."
The hike will also focus on the importance of practicing Leave No Trace principles when exploring the woods. "We want to preserve the natural beauty of Forest Ridge Park and ensure that future generations can enjoy it as well," adds Smith.
Whether you are a seasoned hiker or a beginner, this winter hike is designed to cater to all. It offers a wonderful opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life and recharge while surrounded by the beauty of nature.
To participate in the hike, individuals must be 14 years or older. The cost is $6 per person. Interested participants can register on RecLink, the park's online registration platform.
So, lace up your shoes and get ready for an adventure in the great outdoors. Join Forest Ridge Park on Jan. 1 for a winter hike that will leave you feeling refreshed and inspired.
