Commute Smart Raleigh is inviting residents to kick off the new year by participating in the New Year New Commute Challenge. The challenge, which began on January 8, encourages participants to choose alternative modes of transportation instead of driving alone.

"You can choose to take the bus, bike, walk, carpool, scooter or anything else besides driving alone to complete your daily needs," says the announcement.

Participants have the chance to win one of three prizes based on their commuting efforts. The first-place winner will receive a 12-month membership to Cardinal Bikeshare, while the second-place winner will receive a one-month membership. The third-place winner will be awarded a Commute Smart Raleigh Swag Bag.

To participate in the challenge, interested individuals can visit Eventzee. The app is available for download on the App Store, Google Play Store, or can be accessed through a web browser. The best part is that it is completely free to play.

Once signed up, participants can enter the code "NewYear" when prompted and start logging their daily commutes. By doing so, they earn points and increase their chances of winning one of the exciting prizes.

The challenge will run until February 8, and on that day, the top three players with the most points will be announced as the winners.

For more information on how to play and to learn more about Commute Smart Raleigh, interested individuals can visit the organization's website.

Join the New Year New Commute Challenge today and make a positive impact on your daily commute while also getting the chance to win fantastic prizes.
