Toyota has initiated a new marketing campaign, "Your Window to the Wild," for its 2025 Toyota 4Runner. The aim is to reconnect drivers with a sense of adventure, whether in urban landscapes or outdoor settings. Unveiled on April 7, 2025, in Plano, Texas, the campaign highlights the 4Runner's balanced blend of traditional ruggedness with modern technological features.
"The 2025 4Runner blends rugged capability with modern innovation, inspiring drivers to embrace the magic of the outdoors,” said Mike Tripp, Toyota Marketing Group Vice President. This sense of adventure is a historic marker of the Toyota 4Runner over its four-decade span.
The campaign, crafted by Saatchi & Saatchi, includes a series of commercials directed by Peter Thwaites, such as "Into the Wild." This particular ad narrates the journey of a father and daughter exploring mountainous terrain in their 4Runner. The theme revolves around unplugging from digital distractions to reignite a passion for exploration.
An extension of this thematic exploration can be seen in other campaign spots, such as “Full Screen,” “Jam Session,” and “Unsteady Ground,” showcasing features like the power rear window and portable Bluetooth speaker, paired with magical and imaginative landscapes.
Additionally, the Hispanic-targeted “4Runner Landia” campaign seeks to engage Latinos with a twist on land ownership dreams. It offers a contest for winning both a Toyota 4Runner and a piece of land. Directed by Eric Maldin, it features a 30-second video with a realtor presenting the vehicle alongside breathtaking vistas. The campaign further includes a fictional property listing for the 4Runner on Realtor.com.
The campaign spans across multiple media, engaging partners such as Netflix, Hulu Latino, Discovery Channel en Español, and various digital and social media channels. The paid social elements extend to platforms like Meta, Pinterest, and Snap.
The all-new 2025 Toyota 4Runner, known for its off-road prowess, features two powertrain options: the i-FORCE engine with 278 horsepower and the i-FORCE MAX hybrid system producing 326 horsepower. It offers advanced off-road capabilities with options such as Multi-Terrain Select and Crawl Control, emphasizing its design for exploration.
The 2025 4Runner line starts at an MSRP of $40,770 for the SR5 model, with various grades available including the newly introduced Trailhunter, aimed specifically at overland adventures.
