Pullen Arts Center in Raleigh, North Carolina is proud to present its newest addition to the art community - a vibrant chalk mural created by local artist Ashley Bonner. Located at the center's first-floor entrance, the chalk mural wall serves as a rotating canvas for invited artists to display their creativity every two to three months. Bonner's mural, titled "Abundance," will be on exhibit from January 27 to March 31, 2024.
Ashley Bonner, a ceramic artist with a BFA in Sculpture and Ceramics from UNC Greensboro, brings a unique perspective to her work. Inspired by the Raleigh arts scene and deeply influenced by the natural world, Bonner's creations range from playful to abstract, always incorporating elements of nature and organic imagery. Her passion for flowers and plants is evident in her mural, where vivid colors and flowing imagery depict the abundance of nature.
In an interview, Bonner shared her thoughts on the inspiration behind her mural, stating, "I wanted to capture the essence of nature's playfulness and beauty. The vessels, water curves, and plant vines represent the abundance and life that can be found in the natural world."
