Raleigh is working on developing its Next Comprehensive Plan, focusing on sustainable and equitable growth. This plan will include community engagement through a series of Community Conversations. These discussions will cover six core themes: Affordable Housing, Stormwater, Mobility, Trees, Neighborhood Change, and Sustainable Infrastructure & Services.

The upcoming Stormwater Community Conversation is scheduled for December. Raleigh Planning and Development and Raleigh Stormwater will host two nights dedicated to presentations and discussions about flood management, climate adaptation, and stormwater priorities. The feedback gathered during these events will contribute to shaping the vision and goals of the Next Comprehensive Plan.

Ted Brown, President & CEO of Biohabitats, will deliver a keynote presentation at the Stormwater Community Expo on December 4 at Martin Street Baptist. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the presentation starting at 7 p.m.

On December 9, Wayne Miles from Raleigh Stormwater Program Management and The Reverend Jemonde Taylor, Chair of Raleigh Stormwater Management Advisory Commission, will discuss the state of stormwater in Raleigh. This event will also take place at Martin St. Baptist Church with a presentation at 6 p.m., followed by a community dialogue at 7 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to register for "Weathering the Storm: A Conversation on Stormwater Management & Priorities." Presentations will be streamed online and recorded for later viewing. Food will be provided along with language translation services and children's activities.
