Raleigh Parks Maintenance staff, in collaboration with Project EverGreen, are calling for volunteers to participate in a community planting event at Sanderford Road Park. The initiative aims to enhance the park's landscaping and create healthier public green spaces.
Project EverGreen, a national non-profit organization dedicated to fostering community engagement in environmental projects, will spearhead the landscaping efforts with the assistance of local professionals. The event is scheduled for March 18-19 for the creation and preparation of new landscape beds, followed by the community planting day on Wednesday, March 20.
"This is a great opportunity for new and experienced gardeners alike! No prior experience is necessary," expressed the organizers, highlighting the inclusive nature of the event. Volunteers aged 16 and above are encouraged to participate in either the morning shift from 8 a.m. to noon or the afternoon shift from 1 to 4 p.m.
As stated by Project EverGreen, "Collaboratively, we can make a difference in creating a greener, healthier, cooler Earth." Those interested in contributing to the beautification of Sanderford Road Park and promoting environmental sustainability are invited to join the community planting day and play a role in fostering a greener future for the local area.
