Raleigh Retro Gamers, in collaboration with Moore Square and Raleigh Parks, is set to host the 3rd Annual Raleigh Retro Gamer Summer Expo on Saturday, June 15. The event promises a comprehensive experience for gaming enthusiasts of all ages.
The expo will feature a vendor marketplace with over 85 vendors offering retro and modern games, consoles, and geek merchandise. Attendees can also enjoy live music from three bands and a DJ, as well as participate in a Drone Attack Game organized by Aerial Adrenaline.
Local food trucks will be present to provide refreshments. Free-play gaming stations will be available for attendees to try out various games. Gaming tournaments hosted by AmaZulu Gaming are expected to draw competitive gamers.
A cosplay contest with prizes will be held, adding an element of creativity and fun. Kids' activities include a splashpad, chalk art, and Nintendo giveaways. Additionally, Sword Circle LLC will conduct demos throughout the day.
An Extra Life charity game benefiting Duke Children’s Hospital is another highlight of the event.
The expo runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and admission is free for all ages.
