The City of Raleigh is seeking public input on the S. State Street bikeway project as it enters its final design phase. This initiative is part of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Program and represents the third step in a four-step process aimed at improving biking infrastructure.

The S. State Street bikeway is included in the 10-year Priority Project list from the 2016 BikeRaleigh Plan. It aims to connect various key areas, including neighborhood bikeways linking with proposed routes on Bragg Street, Peterson Street, and Dandridge Drive. Additionally, it will serve as a crucial route between Biltmore Hills neighborhood, Walnut Creek Wetland Park and Trail, Fuller Elementary School, and Carnage Middle School.

The updated design proposes maintaining all existing parking spots on both sides of S. State Street between Bragg Street and Peterson Street. Furthermore, it focuses on enhancing bike lane designs between Bragg Street and Peterson Street, as well as between Peterson Street and Bunche Drive.

Public feedback is essential for finalizing this design. The city encourages residents to review the updated design concepts and share their thoughts through a survey that opened on August 5.

"Your input is crucial!" stated city officials in their announcement about the survey deadline set for September 20.

Review the design concepts and take the survey before September 20 to contribute your opinions on this significant project.
