The new Junior Scientist series is designed for children aged 6 to 12 who have an interest in exploring the natural world through experiments and hands-on activities. Participants will engage in mini field experiments, utilize research equipment, and make detailed observations. Each session will focus on a different topic within the natural sciences.

One of the upcoming sessions, titled "Owling Around," will take place at Lake Wheeler. In this class, participants will closely examine the lives of owls by searching for their habitats, studying their diets, and observing their daily and nightly activities. Attendees are advised to dress appropriately for the weather and bring a water bottle. The session includes a short walk and scientific tools to dissect owl pellets. All necessary materials will be provided except for the water bottle.

The "Owling Around" session is scheduled for Friday, October 18, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., targeting children aged 6 to 12. The cost of participation is $6, and registration can be completed on RecLink.
