Raleigh Parks is calling for volunteers to assist with the upcoming Holiday Express event at Pullen Park. With the holiday season approaching, the organization aims to recruit over 500 volunteers to help during both the annual Holiday Express and the Sensory Friendly Holiday Express events.
Volunteers will engage in various activities such as running games and assisting with event operations. The opportunity is open to individuals aged 15 and above, offering a chance to contribute to community festivities.
The main Holiday Express event will transform Pullen Park into a winter wonderland, featuring crafts, holiday lights, and visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Volunteer shifts are scheduled nightly from December 2 to December 18, between 4 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Additional volunteer opportunities are available for makeup dates from December 19 to December 22 in case of severe weather.
For those interested in a quieter experience, the Sensory Friendly Holiday Express offers a modified version of the event on December 7 and December 15 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., with reduced lights and music to accommodate visitors with sensory sensitivities.
Pre-registration is required for all volunteering positions. Raleigh Parks encourages community members to participate in creating memorable experiences for attendees.
