The City of Raleigh is inviting residents to participate in shaping the city's budget by attending a series of listening sessions. The Budget and Management Services Department has scheduled eight sessions, including two virtual and six in-person meetings, to gather public input on budget allocation.
"Your input is critical to creating an equitable City budget," emphasized the department, encouraging community involvement.
Virtual sessions will be conducted via Zoom on Monday, December 9, and Thursday, December 12, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Participants will receive a Zoom link upon registration.
In-person engagement opportunities are available throughout December and January. On Wednesday, December 11, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., residents can attend "Budget & Brews" at Clouds Brewing on Front Street.
Further sessions are planned across various districts in January:
- District D: Pullen Community Center on January 6
- District A: Millbrook Exchange Community Center on January 7
- District E: Laurel Hills Community Center on January 8
- District B: Abbots Creek Community Center on January 9
- District C: Barwell Road Community Center on January 13
Registration is not required for in-person attendance unless interpretation or child care services are needed. These services are provided free of charge at all sessions except "Budget & Brews."
Residents are encouraged to attend any session convenient for them. To find their district, they can enter their address in the Services section of the city's homepage.
