The City of Raleigh has completed its 2024 Street Resurfacing Program, which began last spring. The program resurfaced 11 centerline miles and 46 street segments across the city.

This annual initiative is part of Raleigh's ongoing efforts to maintain and improve road infrastructure. The focus for 2024 was on enhancing safety, usability, and aesthetics, aiming to provide a smoother driving experience for residents.

“We are thrilled to have completed this significant portion of our resurfacing program for 2024,” said Ben Griffin, Street Maintenance Division Manager. “This effort underscores our dedication to providing high-quality roadways that meet the needs of our growing community. We appreciate the patience and cooperation of our residents throughout this process.”

The resurfacing work involved addressing various street conditions using advanced techniques. This approach is intended to extend pavement lifespan and reduce future repair needs. Streets were selected based on traffic volume, condition, and community impact by the city's Transportation Department.

Residents are encouraged to enjoy the newly resurfaced streets and report any issues to transportationinfo@raleighnc.gov.
