The Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department has introduced the Capital Area Greenway Explorer Map, a web-based application designed to assist users in exploring the Greenway. This tool enables individuals to find nearby trailheads, parking lots, restrooms, bike repair stations, and other amenities.

The initiative is a product of the Office of Strategy and Innovation’s Raleigh Impact Lab. Described as a unique government consulting program, the Impact Lab employs human-centered design to address significant challenges in Raleigh through collaboration and innovation. It aims to transform "How might we..." questions into practical solutions.

Users can utilize the Greenway Explorer Map by zooming into their current location. This feature allows them to identify the closest trailhead, parking areas, restrooms, bike rental stations, dog parks, bike repair stations, playgrounds, and parks. The map includes integrated buttons for easy access to the Greenway Closures and Alerts page and an option to submit a SeeClickFix report.

Optimized for mobile devices but also functional on computers and tablets, this application is tailored for quick access to nearby amenities without providing navigation or routing services.

Additionally, QR Codes have been placed along the Greenway on various signs. These codes can be scanned with mobile devices to directly access the web application.
