Toyota Connected North America (TCNA) has announced executive changes effective April 1, 2025. James George, currently serving as executive vice president and deputy chief executive officer, will be promoted to president and CEO of TCNA. He will succeed Christopher Yang in this role.

George has been with Toyota since 2007 and has held various roles in strategic planning, research, marketing, and leadership. As executive vice president and deputy CEO, he has guided the company's strategy as a software center of excellence. He also serves on TCNA’s board of directors. George will continue his role at Toyota Motor North America as general manager for Enterprise Strategy and Solutions, reporting to Yang.

Christopher Yang commented on the transition: “James is the ideal leader to succeed me in this role. He has been a part of TCNA’s journey since 2019. His experience and accomplishments during his tenure give me the utmost confidence in his ability to continue leading TCNA’s evolution.”

Yang will move into a new position as senior advisor and board member for TCNA. Additionally, he will become senior vice president for Enterprise Strategy and Solutions at Toyota Motor North America. In this capacity, Yang will oversee strategy development, new business initiatives, and investments as Toyota transitions to a mobility company. He will also take on roles as deputy chief compliance officer and deputy chief risk officer for Toyota Motor Corporation.

Toyota Connected North America was established in 2016 in Plano, Texas. It operates as an independent entity within Toyota focused on software innovation and connected services that enhance customer experiences while maintaining a commitment to personal privacy.
