Joe Gibbs Racing's new driver, Chase Briscoe, has secured the pole position for Toyota at the Daytona 500. This achievement marks a first for Toyota in this prestigious race. Briscoe's No. 19 Bass Pro Shops Camry was the fastest during both qualifying sessions, clocking a time of 49.249 seconds in the second round.

“It’s a great way to start our season,” Briscoe commented on his performance. He expressed his excitement about delivering Toyota's first pole position at Daytona and praised Joe Gibbs Racing for their support. “The whole offseason everybody kept telling me the focus was trying to qualify better at superspeedways,” he added, noting that it was an area they struggled with last year.

Briscoe will be leading the field when the green flag drops for Sunday's Daytona 500 race. Meanwhile, eleven other Toyota Camry XSE drivers are set to compete in Thursday night's Duels at Daytona to finalize the starting grid for Sunday.

Toyota has been part of North America's automotive scene for nearly seven decades and is advancing sustainable mobility through its brands and dealerships. The company employs around 64,000 people across North America and plans to begin manufacturing automotive batteries in North Carolina by spring 2025.
