After a nine-day break, the Carolina Hurricanes resumed practice on Tuesday. Some players returned with fresh haircuts and tans, but how did they spend their time off?

Jackson Blake visited family in Minnesota to unwind after a hectic seven months. He enjoyed getting on the ice with his younger brother's hockey team.

Shayne Gostisbehere, who recently welcomed his son Dax on January 23, stayed in Raleigh to spend time with his family. On his diaper-changing skills, he humorously noted, "I can change them pretty good," adding that he could be a pit stop guy for NASCAR.

Eric Robinson and his wife are expecting their first child and spent their break setting up a nursery in New Jersey. They also had a baby shower with family and friends.

Defensemen Jalen Chatfield and Sean Walker traveled to Anguilla for some relaxation. Walker said, "We had a good time together. It was just very relaxing and a good reset, for sure."

Pyotr Kochetkov went to Mexico, joking about indulging in too much Mexican food: "No skates, no stress, just questioning my life choices after too much Mexican food."

Andrei Svechnikov visited the Bahamas while head coach Rod Brind'Amour took the opportunity to watch his youngest son play sports.

The break provided valuable personal time for many members of the team.
