Toyota Motor Corporation has announced the development of its third-generation fuel cell system, known as the 3rd Gen FC System. This new system is part of Toyota's ongoing efforts to promote a hydrogen-based society.
The 3rd Gen FC System is tailored for the commercial sector, offering durability comparable to traditional diesel engines. It boasts improvements in performance, including enhanced fuel efficiency and reduced costs compared to previous versions. The system will not only be used in passenger vehicles but also expanded for heavy-duty commercial vehicles. Toyota plans to introduce this new technology primarily in Japan, Europe, North America, and China starting from 2026.
