Petals in the Park, a spring event celebrating the blooming flowers of Raleigh's parks, invites residents to explore designated floral sites throughout the city. The event offers several activities for participants to enjoy.

Residents can visit select parks and greenways to see nature at its peak beauty, guided by special signs marking these areas. In addition, Raleigh Parks marketing ambassadors will host photo days featuring giveaways and instant print photos with the #PetalsInThePark photo frame.

Participants are encouraged to take photographs with their favorite blooms from now until June and submit them for a chance to win a private tour of a Raleigh Parks greenhouse. This exclusive tour provides insight into the spaces that cultivate plants for local parks and city properties.

The featured petals vary each month, beginning with camellias at Fletcher Park and crocus at Charlotte Hilton Green Park in February. March highlights include tulips, magnolia, redbud at Fletcher Park, daffodils at Dix Park, and bloodroot at Lions Park. April brings trillium at Joslin Gardens, wildflowers at Roberts Park, columbine at Dix Chapel, and spring perennials at the Raleigh Convention Center. In May, poppies and coneflowers can be found at Sassafras Playground while roses bloom in the Raleigh Rose Garden. Finally, June showcases beebalm and yarrow at Pender Mini Park.

Ambassador photo days are scheduled across various locations: Dix Park on March 29; Fletcher Park on April 3; Roberts Park on April 12; Dix Chapel on April 22; Sassafras All Children’s Playground on May 10; Raleigh Rose Garden on May 23; and Pender Street Mini Park on June 1.
