Duke Energy Florida has introduced three new programs aimed at offering more choices for customers interested in electric vehicles (EVs). These initiatives include the Charger Prep Credit, Off-Peak Charging Credit, and Fleet Advisory programs, catering to both residential and business customers.

Melissa Seixas, Duke Energy Florida's state president, stated, "Not only do EVs help save on fuel and maintenance costs for drivers, but they have significant economic and environmental benefits as well. Our goal with these programs and the various incentives they offer is to make EVs more accessible for all of our customers, helping meet their individual needs while contributing to the ongoing energy transition."

The Charger Prep Credit program offers a one-time credit to help residential and business customers cover the cost of installing necessary EV charging infrastructure. However, this credit does not apply to the charging station hardware or software required.

The Off-Peak Charging Credit program allows residential customers using Level 2 chargers to earn a $7.50 monthly credit by charging their EVs during off-peak hours—between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Friday, including weekends and holidays.

Business customers can benefit from the Fleet Advisory program by receiving up to $12,000 towards completing an electrification study for their vehicle fleets. The program aims to assist businesses in reducing their carbon footprint while discovering cost-saving opportunities with EVs.

Duke Energy Florida operates with an energy capacity of 12,300 megawatts serving two million customers across its service area in Florida. Its parent company, Duke Energy (NYSE: DUK), is headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., serving millions across multiple states with both electric and natural gas utilities.
