Toyota GAZOO Racing North America (TGRNA) has introduced a new addition to its GR Cup Series for the 2025 season. The Legends Cup, presented by WWEX Group, is specifically designed for drivers aged 45 and older. This new class will be integrated into select events during the upcoming GR Cup season, providing seasoned racers with an opportunity to compete at renowned tracks across the United States.
The Legends Cup will feature a six-race series held at Circuit of the Americas, Road America, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Each race will coincide with the 45-minute GR Cup series events. Participants in this category will compete for podium positions, with the top three finishers recognized on a dedicated Legend-specific podium. The driver accumulating the most points throughout these events will earn the title of inaugural WWEX Group Legends Cup Champion.
Mike Norem, manager of Customer Racing at TGRNA, commented on this development: “The Legends Cup is an exciting opportunity to recognize the experience and passion that these racers bring to the track.” He added that TGRNA is pleased to offer this competitive platform with support from WWEX Group.
WWEX Group has further incentivized participation by offering a $5,000 bonus to the highest finishing Legend driver at each of the 14 GR Cup races in 2025. Additionally, at season's end, the Legend driver with the most cumulative points will receive another $5,000 as part of being named the WWEX Group Fastest Legend. Overall, $75,000 in prize money is available for competitors in this category.
This initiative underscores TGRNA’s dedication to providing diverse competitive opportunities while celebrating motorsport talent across different stages of racing careers.
