Red Hat, Inc. announced today the winners of the Red Hat APAC Innovation Awards 2024 for Taiwan, recognizing Nan Shan Life Insurance and Next Commercial Bank for their innovative use of Red Hat solutions. Despite challenging economic conditions in 2024, the recipients were praised for their creative application of Red Hat technologies in transforming their business operations.
The awards, themed "Unlock what’s next," celebrate customers who have effectively utilized open source technologies to drive transformation. This initiative honors organizations that manage increasing infrastructure costs while also adapting to new business demands, highlighting successful cases across 11 countries.
Marjet Andriesse, Red Hat's Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Asia Pacific, noted the achievements, stating, "Despite the uncertain economic conditions in 2024, we have seen the remarkable milestones achieved by our customers. This year, we want to highlight the innovative strides of these organizations at the Red Hat APAC Innovation Awards 2024 as they leverage advanced technologies to drive business initiatives. Open source remains the key to help organizations uncover what is next and pave the way for success with the right tools and expertise.”
Nan Shan Life Insurance, one of the award winners, emphasizes "service empowerment" and "digital empowerment" as central to their transformation strategy. According to Fanny Chan, Vice President of Nan Shan Life Insurance, "Nan Shan Life Insurance continues to focus on two key pillars of transformation and development—'service empowerment’ and ‘digital empowerment’ to optimize customer experience and enhance service efficiency." The adoption of Red Hat OpenShift has been instrumental in reducing hardware resources and improving system resilience.
Next Commercial Bank, another winner, is recognized for its innovative information system development from scratch. Feng Ming Tsai, Director of Next Commercial Bank, commented, "Collaborating with Red Hat has been a game-changer for Next Commercial Bank.
