Red Hat, the prominent provider of open source solutions, has announced the winners of the Red Hat APAC Innovation Awards 2024 for China. The awards recognize Amway (China) Co., Ltd. and Siemens Industrial Automation Products, Chengdu (SEWC) for their innovative applications of Red Hat technologies. This acknowledgment highlights their role in addressing evolving business demands through creative use of open source solutions.
The Asia Pacific region continues to grow at a rapid pace, providing opportunities for businesses amid dynamic economic and cultural landscapes. Technology is pivotal in this growth, enabling businesses to scale and innovate, as reflected in the theme of this year’s awards, "Unlock what's next."
Red Hat awards honor the accomplishments of 31 winners across 11 countries. These winners demonstrate the ability to manage infrastructure costs while meeting evolving business needs by leveraging open source technologies. Red Hat’s 2024 Global Tech Trends identified cloud-native applications, digital user experience enhancements, and accelerated application delivery as top funding priorities in the APAC region.
Amway (China) Co., Ltd. was recognized under the Digital Transformation and Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure category. The company improved their supply chain using a hybrid cloud application platform on Red Hat OpenShift. This development has led to significant advancements in digital collaboration and production process traceability. Keen Kong, Infrastructure Director at Amway, stated, "our work with Red Hat laid a solid foundation for us to scale and innovate."
Siemens Industrial Automation Products, Chengdu (SEWC) won in the category of Digital Transformation. Facing challenges in production continuity, SEWC employed Red Hat OpenShift to create MEMO, a flexible and resilient production support system. This new system enhances the efficiency and user experience for production line workers. "The MEMO project in collaboration with Red Hat has greatly enhanced our architectural flexibility," said Yang Jian, IT Department Manager at SEWC.
Marjet Andriesse, Red Hat’s senior vice president and general manager, praised the winners’ achievements by saying, “Open source remains the key to help organizations uncover what is next and pave the way for success with the right tools and expertise.”
