May is recognized as National Bike Month, a time to celebrate biking in its various forms, and the Raleigh community is invited to join the occasion. The city aspires to showcase the reasons why its residents choose to bike.
Residents are encouraged to share their biking experiences, whether for commuting, fitness, leisure, or family bonding. "Tell us what biking means to you and help inspire others to get rolling," the organizers said.
To participate, residents should submit a photo of themselves biking in their preferred setting, such as a greenway, park, or on their commuting route. Along with the photo, a short quote about their biking motivation is requested. "Include a short quote about why you bike — just a sentence or two is perfect!" the call invites.
Participants should include their first name and any additional details they wish to share about their biking experiences. Those selected will have their images and quotes featured on @RaleighTranspo (X/Twitter) during the Bike Month celebrations. Submissions can be sent to TransportationInfo@raleighnc.gov.
The initiative aims to "show the world why Raleigh rolls," encouraging community participation and highlighting the benefits of biking.
