The N.C. Plant Conservation Board is scheduled to hold a meeting to address topics concerning land conservation, stewardship initiatives by the N.C. Plant Conservation Program, as well as regulatory matters. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Steve Troxler Agricultural Science Center located at 4400 Reedy Creek Road in Raleigh, NC. Participants also have the option to join the meeting virtually via Microsoft Teams using the meeting ID and passcode provided.
The N.C. Plant Conservation Program is engaged in devising regulations, voluntary initiatives, and collaborative partnerships aimed at safeguarding endangered species and their environments. Their responsibilities encompass compiling a list of North Carolina's endangered, threatened, and special concern plant species, along with formulating conservation strategies that seek to secure their protection permanently. Vital approaches include acquiring and managing significant plant sites and habitats to enhance and conserve native plants and their ecosystems.
