TOWN OF GARNER POLICE DEPARTMENT: Self-Defense Class for Women & Teens January 28, 2023

Town of Garner police Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 3.

Due to high demand, additional dates will be offered to those that have already signed up and still need to be selected. Class size is dependent on space and the number of instructors we have. Everyone that has signed up will be notified about their enrollment.  Registration is now closed. 

The Garner Police Department is hosting a Self-Defense Class for Women & Teens on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 9:00 am to 2 pm at the Garner Police Department. This class will be the first part of a two-part series. The second class will be primarily reality-based scenarios that will allow the participants to apply their mental toughness, strength, courage, and boldness in conjunction with their newly acquired skills in a dynamic setting. 

The course on January 28, 2023, will begin with a sit-down portion covering the following: 

- The Elements of Predatory Violence - Survival Signals/Mindset - Discussions about personal defense weapons - Discussions about the North Carolina Self-Defense Law - Discussions about private Self-Defense programs 

After the discussions, we will be physically learning & practicing concepts.
