In a bid to recognize and honor the experiences of refugees, a World Refugee Day celebration is set to take place in Raleigh. The event, organized by Get 2 Know Raleigh, Lutheran Services Carolinas, Refugee Hope Partners, U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, Welcome House Raleigh, and WeWelcome, aims to educate attendees about the challenges faced by those forced to flee their homes.
"Join us for a World Refugee Day celebration where we recognize, honor, and educate others about the experiences of those who have been forced to flee their homes," said the event organizers. The occasion will feature local vendors, food trucks, field games for all ages, and live performances from community groups, highlighting the diversity of Raleigh.
"Come be a part of this special occasion and show your support for our newest neighbors," encouraged the organizers. The event is open to all ages and free of charge, providing an opportunity for the community to come together and demonstrate solidarity with refugees.
Scheduled for Saturday, June 8, from 4 to 7 p.m., the World Refugee Day celebration promises to be a meaningful and engaging experience for all who attend.
