The City of Raleigh, in collaboration with We Plant it Forward, invites the community to participate in the Earth Day and Arbor Day Celebration 2025. This free event will take place on April 25, 2025, from 4 to 10 p.m. at Dix Park's Flowers Field.

Attendees can engage with earth-conscious vendors and organizations while enjoying live music, games, and activities suitable for all ages. The event will conclude with a screening of "The Wild Robot," a family-friendly movie.

The celebration aims to educate participants about sustainability efforts by the City of Raleigh, We Plant it Forward, and other community partners. Attendees are encouraged to pledge their support for environmental initiatives through volunteering or personal lifestyle changes.

A highlight of the event is the recognition of Raleigh Environmental Award Winners who have made significant contributions to environmental protection within the community.

Interactive educational demonstrations related to Arbor Day will be available from 4 to 5 p.m., followed by a Walk with an Arborist at 5 p.m. Visitors can explore information booths hosted by local organizations from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., offering engaging activities and insights into environmental stewardship.

David Rahahę•tih Webb of the Tuscarora community will open the event at 5:30 p.m. with a traditional address in the Tuscarora Language. Video and audio recordings of this segment are not permitted.

Earth Dances performed by members of North Carolina Tuscarora and other regional tribal communities will begin at 6 p.m., featuring interactive dances such as the Stick Dance, Alligator Dance, and Smoke Dance.

The evening will also include a tree planting dedication led by We Plant it Forward in honor of Arbor Day. The film "The Wild Robot" will be shown starting at 8:15 p.m., emphasizing both negative and positive human impacts on the environment.
