The City of Raleigh is inviting teenagers aged 15 to 18 to apply for its Summer Youth Employment Program. This initiative aims to help young individuals develop skills and prepare for future employment through a seven-week work experience with the city.

Participants will have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience, explore potential career paths, and learn about financial literacy, civic engagement, workforce soft skills, and leadership. Additionally, mentorship will be available from professionals including firefighters, law enforcement staff, local business owners, and representatives from organizations such as Bank of America and UNC Health.

Interested applicants must complete an online application form and participate in a virtual interview by March 31. Eligibility criteria include being within the specified age range as of May 31, residing within Raleigh city limits, availability to work from June 16 to August 8, attending an in-person orientation on May 17, having computer and internet access if opting for virtual participation, not missing more than five program days, not being enrolled in summer school, and passing a Criminal Record Check and Drug Screening.

For further details or inquiries about the program, Rebekah Dixon can be contacted via email at Rebekah.Dixon@raleighnc.gov.
