Raleigh's parks are set to showcase the beauty of spring with "Petals in the Parks," a celebration of the city's floral displays. The event invites residents and visitors to capture the vibrant blooms across various parks and greenways.
The initiative encourages participants to explore select sites marked with special signs throughout the spring season. As part of the event, Raleigh Parks marketing ambassadors will host special photo days, offering giveaways and instant print photos within a #PetalsInThePark photo frame.
Participants can submit their favorite flower photos until June for a chance to win a private tour of Raleigh Parks' greenhouse. The winner will gain an exclusive look at how plants are cultivated to maintain greenery across city properties.
Featured flowers include Camellias and Crocus in February at Fletcher Park and Charlotte Hilton Green Park, respectively. March brings Tulips, Magnolia, Redbud at Fletcher Park, Daffodils at Dix Park, and Bloodroot at Lions Park. April highlights Trillium at Joslin Gardens, Wildflowers at Roberts Park, Columbine at Dix Chapel, and Spring Perennials at the Raleigh Convention Center. In May, Poppies and Coneflowers appear at Sassafras Playground with Roses blooming in the Raleigh Rose Garden. June features Beebalm and Yarrow at Pender Mini Park.
