Eric Tulsky, General Manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, announced the recall of forward Juha Jaaska from the Chicago Wolves. Jaaska, aged 26, made his NHL debut on January 2 against Florida and has played 17 games with the Hurricanes this season without scoring a goal but contributing four assists.
The Finnish player from Helsinki has also spent time with the Chicago Wolves in the AHL, where he recorded 24 points over 41 games during the 2024-25 season. Prior to joining the AHL, Jaaska played in Finland's Liiga for HIFK, serving as an alternate captain and amassing 30 points in 57 games in the 2023-24 season. His postseason performance was notable with seven points in seven games.
Jaaska's career in Liiga includes nine seasons entirely with HIFK, achieving a total of 142 points across regular-season games and additional contributions during playoff appearances. Internationally, he has represented Finland at various championships including winning gold at the IIHF U18 World Championship in 2016.
The announcement by Tulsky marks another step in Jaaska's professional hockey journey as he returns to play with the Hurricanes.
