Toyota has announced the upcoming release of the GR86 Yuzu Edition, set to arrive at dealerships in the fall of 2025. Featuring a distinctive Yuzu Yellow exterior, inspired by the Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0, this special edition is based on the GR86 Premium grade. It boasts 18-inch matte-black wheels and a black interior accented with yellow details. Toyota plans to produce only 860 units of the Yuzu Edition for the North American market.

"Every GR vehicle is designed and engineered with precise attention to detail and unique driving character," stated Akio Toyoda, aka Morizo, and the Toyota GAZOO Racing drivers and engineers. With a focus on performance and balance, the GR86 is known for its nimble handling and engaging driving experience. The 2026 models will incorporate updates from last year’s GAZOO Racing tuning, including revised throttle mapping and engine torque control.

All models will be powered by a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder boxer engine, generating 228 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque. Customers will have the choice of a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The Yuzu Edition will come with a Performance Package that includes Brembo Brakes and SACHS Dampers, providing improved stopping power and stability.

Additional customizations include accessories like a cat-back exhaust with GR logoed silver tips and a body kit for enhanced self-expression. The interior of the GR86 features sport seats and a driver-focused cockpit with a digital instrument panel. The vehicle also includes an 8-inch touchscreen multimedia system and an active safety suite.

All GR86 models come standard with the Toyota Star Safety System, including vehicle stability control, anti-lock brakes, and more. They are also supported by the ToyotaCare plan, covering maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, and include complimentary connectivity services.

In support of motorsport enthusiasts, Toyota offers a one-year membership to the National Auto Sport Association, granting access to performance driving experiences and events. The company emphasizes its commitment to motorsports development and the performance capabilities of their GR series through real-world competitive racing insights.

The GR86 weighs only 2,811 pounds with a manual transmission and ensures a lightweight structure with aluminum body components. Performance details also highlight a Torsen limited-slip rear differential and sports mode options in the transmission, enhancing the dynamic driving experience.

As the GR86 models become available, Toyota will announce retail prices and additional specifications later this year.
