On the eve of the last Dreamville Festival, festival organizers and Raleigh City Manager, Marchell Adams-David, clarified that this will not signal the end of music festivals in Dix Park. Adams-David, in a lighthearted moment, shared her reluctance to acknowledge the festival's conclusion. She stated, “And now I don’t have to!”
Promoter Sascha Stone Guttfreund expressed enthusiasm for continuing to deliver quality events in Raleigh. Dreamville co-founders, Adam Roy and Ibrahim Hamad, commended the teamwork with Raleigh officials, contributing significantly to the festival’s achievements. “Working with the (City of Raleigh) has been an absolute pleasure,” noted Roy.
Stephen Bentley, City of Raleigh Parks Director, highlighted the collaborative efforts of his staff, essential for the festival’s success. “It really does take a village,” Bentley stated. “It takes all of us working together to build something that’s unique.”
The festival, curated by globally renowned artist J. Cole, a co-founder of Dreamville, and produced by ScoreMore Shows, will occur on April 5 and April 6 at Raleigh's Dix Park. The previous festival attracted fans from all 50 states and various countries.
This year’s headliners include Lil Wayne featuring The Hot Boys with Juvenile, Turk, and B.G., as well as Big Tymers with Mannie Fresh and Birdman, 21 Savage, Tems, and Erykah Badu, accompanying J. Cole. Attendees will also have access to over 75 vendors, muralists, artisans, nonprofit organizations, and local businesses from Raleigh and North Carolina.
The festival has significantly contributed to the local economy in past years, with over 100,000 attendees, and organizers expect a similar turnout this weekend.
