Governor Stein appoints new board members across North Carolina

Governor Josh Stein has announced new appointments and nominations to various Boards and Commissions. These appointments aim to fill key positions across sectors such as law enforcement, the judiciary, public health, education, and veterans' affairs.

For the Governor's Crime Commission, Stein has nominated Erin S. Hucks, a Chief District Court Judge from Union County, and Sheriff Bobby F. Kimbrough of Forsyth County. Nisha G. Williams, from Durham County, will represent a domestic or sexual assault program.

The Historic Hillsborough Commission will see the appointments of Joseph Petrizzi and Laura Juel, both from Orange County.

Dr. Kenneth Brown and Dr. Chad Robertson have been appointed to the North Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners. They come from Durham and Mecklenburg Counties, respectively.

Graham Bennett and Tess Judge will join the North Carolina Board of Transportation, representing NCDOT Districts 9 and 1.

The North Carolina College Foundation Inc. Board of Trustees welcomes Shannon Trapp from Durham County as an at-large member.

For the North Carolina Emergency Response Commission, Sheriff Willie Rowe of Wake County and Chief Robert Hassell of Nash County have been appointed.

Commissioner Shinica Thomas, from Wake County, joins the North Carolina Local Governmental Employees' Retirement System Board.

Raquel Painter from Onslow County will join the North Carolina Military Affairs Commission.

Felita Livingston has been appointed to the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board as an at-large member.

The Honorable Teresa H. Vincent of Guilford County joins the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners.

For the State Board of Education, Dr. Janet Mason from Rutherford County has been nominated as a Representative from the 8th Educational District.

Tommy Dean Rowland is appointed to the North Carolina Plumbing, Heating and Fire Board as a Municipal Plumbing or Mechanical Inspector.

Michael Hawkins of Transylvania County has been nominated to the North Carolina Utilities Commission as an at-large member.

The North Carolina Veterans Affairs Commission includes new appointees from various districts: Louis D. Harvin-Ravin of Durham County, David Grier Martin III of Wake County, Pastor Charles Thomas Dudley of Craven County, and Jeff Joyner of Durham County.

Daryl Larimore from Forsyth County joins the Underground Damage Prevention Review Board as a representative from a hazardous liquid transmission pipeline company.

Lastly, Larry Wooten of Wake County is appointed to the North Carolina Agricultural Hall of Fame Board.

Governor Stein's appointments reflect a blend of experienced professionals from a wide range of sectors, aiming to drive progress and safeguard community interests throughout North Carolina.
